Kylie Minogue’s new single “Timebomb” from her K25 extravaganza - a year long celebration of Kylie’s 25 years in the music industry - and it’s probably the best Kylie song I’ve heard in a very long time.
Even better? The video for “Timebomb” is amazing.
The Christian Larson directed video for “Timebomb” features Kylie strutting, driving, dancing and motorbiking her way through the alleyways, clubs and streets of Soho in a pair of hotpants and a leatherjacket - Standard Kylie. The song is fun, the video is a blast to watch - especially if you live in London and recognize the parts of Soho she’s in - and it’s full of an energy and a vibe that screams SHE’S STILL GOT IT.
“Timebomb” truly does make you wonder what Kylie Minogue will manage to do in her next 25 years in the industry. She’s managed to reinvent herself and stay at the top of her game in a way that seems more human, and a bit more tangible than Madonna. She connects with her fans in a way that Lady Gaga would appreciate, and seeing her twirling through Soho is not so much a shout-out to her gay fanbase, but a fist-pump, and a thank you.

Kylie is a performer who knows what her fans want from her - they want hotpants, they want ridiculously small dresses, and they want to dance. All of which Timebomb delivers flawlessly.
