Whether you're huge fan of the Queen or you simply like an excuse to party, you'll no doubt have noticed that thte Queen's Diamond Jubilee is coming up. (Probably because every British brand and retailer is shoving it down your throat harder and more agressivley than they did with Kate and Wills' nuptuals.)
However, despite a lot of the vomit-inducing GREAT Britain merchandise, there are some cool things happening to celebrate the Queen's big day. Here are some of my favourites...
Bourne & Hollingsworth Jubilee Celebrations
Celebrate the Queen's Jubliee with the quirky folks at Bourne & Hollingsworth! Head on down to Bedford Square and enjoy live music, games (egg and spoon race, anyone?) as well of plenty of traditional British grub. From a hog roast and Spitfire ale to afternoon tea and strawberries and cream, it will be a truly British celebration! (Plus DJs, which is a must, quite frankly.)
When: 3 June
Tickets: £15, available at ticketweb.co.uk
Tatty Devine's Jubilee Bunting Necklace Workshop
Head on down to the Tatty Devine shop in Covent Garden and learn how ot make your very own bunting necklace with TD designer Harriet Vine. You can choose your own flag colours, necklace length and style, and you'll also learn the fundemental tecniques of basic jewellery making. Even better, you get 10% off all jewellery, all for just £20!

When: 30 May
Tickets: £20, available at tattydevine.com
The Hummingbird Bakery's Diamond Jubilee Cupcakes

While this isn't exactly an event in itself, making sure you grab one of these special edition cupcakes is a must. The Hummingbird Bakery is, in my opinion, the best place for cupcakes in London, and any celebration, whether it's a birthday or Christmas, needs Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes! These commemorative vanilla sponge cupcakes are finished with red, white and blue whipped buttercream frosting with a variety of hand decorated designs!
When: 1 - 5 June
Where: All Hummingbird Bakery branches!
