Virgin Media's Louder Lounge at V Fest

By Kelli Savill

This is the hardest review I’ve ever had to write. I have had a fantastic weekend and it makes it difficult to put anything into words.

This weekend I was a guest of the Virgin Media Louder Lounge at V Festival, and now a normal festival will ever be the same again.

As the gates of the Louder Lounge opened on Saturday, we were greeted with MAC stylists, free beers, tanning salons and a nail bar. There were also Very.co.uk supplying the festival clobber and GUESS protecting our eyes with some highly suitable sunnies. Believe me, on the hottest weekend of the year, they were necessary.

If you add to this a high array of celebrities in attendance, it makes for a perfect weekend. I’ve now met a Spice Girl, high-fived a Made In Chelsea star and grabbed a TOWIE actor’s bum. All in a day’s work.

The experience was created especially for guests of Virgin Media and I’ve never experienced anything like it. Within an hour of being there, I’d chowed down on some sourdough pizza, courtesy of Pizza Pilgrims and had my nails done by Boom Nails. Is there any other way to spend a morning?

Something that was particularly special was the intimate performances in the Louder Lounge. I will admit, on Saturday I ventured into the main arena for my music fix, but by Sunday I’d realised that there was no point – I could see the main arena from the lounge and excellent bands were playing especially for us.

My ultimate highlight was the performance from the Loveable Rouges. A four song set and they managed to convince me that I need to catch them on tour, and buy their album. Their new single Lovesick is out soon (and currently on repeat from my YouTube account). I implore you to go give it a listen – such cute guys, too, with lots of personality!

Virgin Media could not have made us more welcome – the staff were amazingly friendly – even after undeniably long shifts. The food was beautiful, from mac and cheese, pizza, Indian burgers to meatballs or Mexican. I ate like a little queen. There was even homemade ice-cream. Peanut butter flavoured. I’m salivating just thinking about it.

The atmosphere was something I’ve never experienced before. It was like being in a field with a thousand of your best friends. Every guest had so much love for one another and celebrities were suddenly normal people.

Good eats, better music, open bar and a little bit of luxury. What else could you want from a festival?

Huge thank you to our friends at Virgin Media and the Louder Lounge for making our experience at V Fest amazing.
