As BitchBuzz’s token booze-hound, I have taken it upon myself to introduce y’all to some wonderful festive cocktails. After all, what is Christmas if not a chance to overdo it slightly?
1) The New Snowball
A lot of people berate the Snowball as an 80s drink, but when it comes to booze, I don’t think there’s such a thing as. This is the new snowball because it involves gin, which is not in the traditional concoction but takes the edge off the Ad...

So, it is two days before Christmas, your mother has prohibited you from touching any of the Christmas dinner food, you need a quick snack to soak up the festive drinks, and you have spent so much money on presents that you can’t afford to run out for a take-away. What to do?! Make a Christmas quesadilla, that’s what!

For many of us, the winter holidays bring visits with friends and family and nights by the fire. If you’re lucky, those nights will include an amazingly tasty concoction called coquito.
Growing up my dad would drink eggnog and whisky, just a little, during the holidays - a mix that’s never really been to my liking. But a few years ago my friend Julio introduced me to the Puerto Rican version and it’s now the rage at all our holiday shindigs. It’s easy too. Enjoy! (And, thank...

I was perusing the seasonality section of Think Vegetables, thinking that there must be more to December to sprouts, and well, there is. During the busy festive period it is all too easy to neglect proper cooking simply because you don’t have the time (or because you came in at midnight following five pints of va...

Nigella Lawson might be cowering in the wake of the controversy she caused last week over her somewhat shocking fur comments, but luckily this isn’t stopping her from doing what she does best: educating us foolish Aunt Bessie devotees in how to cook proper Christmas food. Last ni...

Lasagne is a brilliant dish. Everyone loves it, it is easy to make, and is absolutely delicious. When it is really cold outside, you crave hearty food, but it doesn’t take long to get a bit bored with potato based dishes. Its tomatoey, cheesy, richness makes lasagne just as warming without it being quite as stodgy.
