Ever since my last long term relationship broke up during the opening salvo of 2011, I’ve wondered if others shared similar tales of New Year’s misery. There’s a perverse logic to it. Although including ‘break up with partner’ on a resolutions list seems too cold, it’s a time when we’re encouraged to reflect on where we’re headed. On the dreaded evening in question, my girlfriend was feeling ‘ill’ and stayed at my flat while I wen...

In September I started training for my very first Cycletta event - a 40 kilometer cycle in New Forest. On Sunday, 21 October, I crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 49 minutes and 36 seconds - over ten minutes faster than I had been training for.
Before last weekend, the closest I'd come to participating in a sporting event is shoving through tourists on Oxford Street. Now, I know what it's like to stick to a training plan, prepare for an event and put my trainin...

As much as we may claim to dislike the constant rise in technology, it seems to be simply how life rolls nowadays.
Most of us don't let a day go by without checking our emails and our mobile phones are alerting us of notifications from various social network sites every few minutes. Few of us can truly say that we're able to resist the calling of a new text message or a Facebook notification for any longer than five minutes.

One of the things that worries me since I've become a hardworking, bill paying adult is the fact that unless I win the lottery or unknowingly appear on The Secret Millionaire, I will never be able to afford my own home.
I'm lucky that I have managed to rent a house in a nicer area of my town, at a very good price. Blue carpets and brown doors aren't that hard to live with, but I'm aware of the fact that I may as well be taking a large proportion of ...

My genuine weight is a reality I don't feel the need to face on regular occasions; I much prefer to save that kind of thing for when I feel like my ego can hack it. Which isn’t often.

Are we past the point of taking sex as an act of love? Do we really need penetration to be coupled with gazing into each other’s eyes and confessions of love? Yes. Yes, I think we are.
Why can’t we strip sex back to carnal desire – why does it always have to be paired with romantic motifs? In my opinion, sex purely for romantic value is an outdated belief. So tell me, guys, why so serious?

With all the current talk of job markets and CVs and portfolios that I seem to hear every second of every day, I definitely think my own CV is in need of a revamp. But sitting at my laptop, trawling ove...

The other night while walking home, I was verbally assaulted by two guys with a toddler. To be fair the toddler didn't say anything disgusting to me but the two guys sure did. They also invaded my personal space and made my heart fall through my stomach in fear. Thankfully, they didn't grope or grab or pull me into a car -- all thoughts that raced through my mind in the 15 seconds during which the altercation took place.
