There are many things to love about Parker Posey.
From her role as Meg Swan in Best in Show to even the ridiculous Kitty in Superman Returns, Parker Posey is one of the funniest women on film and on TV. And now, she's basically outdone herself as JA,N.
JA,N has been giving acting lessons for 30 years, and has recently changed her name from JAN (Just Act Naturally) to JA,N: Just Act, Naturally. With a comma. Surprisingly, I can't think of a single pop star who has done this, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
JA,N teaches the all important Emmy Speech Master Class, which educates her students, who pay a mere $800, to give the Emmy acceptance speech of their lives.
As one enamored student says:
"The Emmy acceptance speech is the first time you get to show the world who you really are. Well, not who you really are, but the character that JA,N says you should be. And I like that, because I don’t like me very much. ”
From ugly, awkward crying, putting on foreign accents and thanking people they've never actually worked with, JA,N knows what the people of the Emmy's want. She event throws eggs on their faces so they know how to lose graciously. (You'll also notice that JA,N has amazing aim.)
JA,N was cleverly created by the Emmys to create some good 'ol viral buzz around this year's Emmy's, which are on 23 September, and I think they've succeeded.
This video made my entire morning, and has also rekindled my girl crush on Posey. That woman. I tell you.
