Hats are big news this season, which makes half-arsed hair really simple: wear a hat. Unfortunately, this merely serves to open up the minefield of buying a hat. No truly half-arsed girl would dare to step onto such complicated terrain.
So, with hats firmly out of the equation, how is one to achieve good hair with minimal effort?

If, like me, you like to circulate your beauty products depending on the time of year, you’ll be rubbing your hands together at the thought of digging out all your autumnal make-up. It’s like shopping!
This year however, there may have to be some slight splurges, though… for the good of autumn, right?

Mascara is the one product that is always a standard in make-up routines. While eye shadows, blushers and highlighters are usually optional, even on the most simple of make-up days, the mascara always goes on.
It's because of this that there are so many damn options for mascaras. Walking along the cosmetic aisles of Boots is like being in a Cost-co. The choice is overwhelming, the prices are ridiculous, and the claims made in mascara adverts are enough to put me off ev...

If you're a regular at the gym or consistantly hit the streets for a run, wearing quality trainers is a necessity.
However, if you enjoy walking around pain-free and like to have your feet sans blisters at all times, trainers serve as an escape from high heels, pointy boots and ridiculous platforms.

I have found that watching Snog, Marry, Avoid has an unexpected side effect. Exposure to the show causes an uncontrollable urge to go and stick things on myself.
“Natural beauty” is all well and good, but the show sidesteps a simple fact: fakery is fun. I may be in a minority, but I like my eyelashes to be so long that they can knock over a martini glass at 15 paces. I like nails that prompt curious looks and nervous questions along the line...

Every boob-respecting lady knows that wearing the correct bra size is a must.
In the last few years it seems that women - at least the ones I know - have gone to be fitted correctly, so that they're only wearing bras that are truly their size. However, something weird happens when it comes to sports bras. I can't be alone in admitting that while I'll only wear "normal" bras that are my size, my sports bras are a completely different story.

Having found a wealth of sparkly baubles in jewel tones and necklaces featuring woodland motifs, it was concluded that "yes" it is, indeed, a bona fide thing. Just like winter woolies and summer dresses – only sparkly and small.
The right jewellery is a great (and cheap) way to take your year-round wardrobe staples into the new season. That t-shirt that looked great in summer? Time to swap the sandals and hippy beads for a seasonally appropriate cardigan and chun...

Off-duty models are teetering through the streets of London at all hours, people on the tube are wearing platform heels and couture at 8am, and our Twitter feeds are full of fashion bloggers complaining about how tired and hungry they are - all of which can only mean one thing...it's London Fashion Week!

I am bloody obsessed with Lush products. Not only did their skincare products clear up acne that I had been fighting for about 15 years, but their bath bombs, face masks and lotions are the nicest, most lovely cosmetic products I've ever used. True story.

Boden’s Autumn/Winter collection has taken me by surprise. Their clothes have always been “nice”, but they have never before managed to drive me wild with avarice.
The name had always conjured up images of conservative midi-skirts and jaunty colourful cashmere. It was one of those labels that I’d filed in a mental folder labelled “for future reference”. The "future" being the one w...
