Beyond designing amazing clothes, a huge part of becoming a successful fashion designer is understanding sales, marketing, and the business side of the industry.
Having a platform where designers can not only display their collections, but have the ability to sell them is hugely important, and the brand new website and ecommerce platform SilkFred.com aims to do exactly that.
Created by Emma Watkinson, SilkFred.com serves as both a website and online shop for new designers, and has an eclectic mix of unique pieces and new talent including designer Stephanie Grace Fay, who was spotted at Vauxhall Fashion Scout at London Fashion week by SilkFred.com's talent scouts. Each designer has their own personalised profile page and shop, so you can discover more about the designer, as well as shop their collection.
Offering a fantastic mix of jewellery, hats, handbag, scarves, men and womenswear - SilkFred.com is an exciting addition to the fashion world for shoppers and designers alike!
Even better? Not everything is OTT the expensive. Here are a few of my favourite designers from SilkFred.com...
Moi Self

Moi Self create gorgeous screen-printed, illustrated hankies with five different messages on them. They're 100% cotton, designed and made in England, and can even be personalised with your own handwriting and message on the back!
Fix Your Mascara, You're Amazing - £10
Thinking Of You, Sweetie - £10
Anna Kompaniets

A Russian born artist/designer and living in London, Anna's work is absolutely breathtaking. From jewellery to scarves, to amazing hats, every piece in her collection is colourful, artistic, and is incredibly unique.
Death of Glamour silk scarf, £85
Mermaid Hat, £320
Deborah Courtoy

Deborah earned a degree in Fashion Design from Helmo Mode in Belgium and COventry University. She worked for a bridal and evening wear brand, which is clear with her own even dress designs, but it's her T-shirts and skirts that have me smitten. I absolutely love both of these pieces! Simple, but kitsch. YES.
Glasses T-shirt, £18
Black skirt, £35
