Exciting news today as Elton John is named the top spectacle-wearing icon. Beating such optical legends at John Lennon, Dame Edna and uh, Gok Wan, Elt scooped the top spot for his dazzling array of glasses.
Dame Edna aside, there are no ladies in the Specsavers sponsored list. What’s that about? Guys don’t make passes at girls in glasses? Who knows, but here are my top speccy four eyed gits. I mean, my top glasses wearers, ahem.
5) Lisa Loeb
I’m not entirely sure what Lisa Loeb has been up to since Stay. What I do know is that when I Google image-searched hair, this (NSFW!) was the first thing to come up, and this was the second (NSFWx2!). No matter. She still looks great, and I’m pleased to see the specs are still in place.

4) Chloe Sevigny
Chloe Sev makes everything look cool. She could wear an adult diaper and a cowboy hat and look incredible. I don’t know if these specs are for sheer vanity or whether she’s actually got eye problems, but she sure as hell suits them.

3) Tina Fey
More than just part of her Sarah Palin novelty act, Ms Fey’s specs are an integral part of her nerdcore look. Her trademark black horn-rims have launched a thousand geek boy, and girl, fantasies, like a modern day Velma or something. You know what I mean. Remove the glasses, shake the hair… it’s porn gold.

2) Rose McGowan
This is definitely a case of the faux-geek glasses, but when they look this good, who cares. That slightly cat-eyed rim makes these specs a cut above the generic nerd glasses that everyone from Mark Ronson to Madonna was sporting last year, although at that size, I think you’d need a cute face like Rose’s to wear these and not look like a total try-hard.
