Top 5 Autumnal Beauty Products

By Kelli Savill

If, like me, you like to circulate your beauty products depending on the time of year, you’ll be rubbing your hands together at the thought of digging out all your autumnal make-up. It’s like shopping!

This year however, there may have to be some slight splurges, though… for the good of autumn, right?

1. Models Own Purple Poppy (£5)

I got this in a set of three (£7.99, TK Maxx) and this was my least favourite of the three but that swiftly turned around. It’s a beautiful, red toned purple that really helps make the transition from the lovely brights of the summer, to the darker shades that we’ll be wearing in the cooler months. Short of mustard yellow, it’s pretty much the must-have shade this year. An honourable mention goes to Models Own Purple Rain that matches up wonderfully with Purple Poppy and will make for some awesome nail art.

2. Vaseline Tubs (£1.99)

It’s officially the start of chapped lips issue. I like to combat this early and I hardly ever suffer with cracking lips; I religiously use Vaseline over my lipstick. So make sure you have a little tub to hand – for a little somethin’ extra, try their Limited Edition Pink Bubbly favour. It smells delicious. Lipsticks to pair it with? Go big or go home. 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in Chocolate Éclair is what I’ll be throwing on, but if that’s a little too bold, Rimmel Moisture Renew in Coffee Shimmer is a lovely, soft way to go a little darker.

3.  Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo 24hour in Eternal Gold (£4.99)

This dazzling gold is perfect for autumn, it’s bold without being overbearing it will last throughout any activity you can think of (leaf diving anyone?) Plus, this colour is perfect for all skin tones and eye colours. Blue eyes will look brighter, while darker eyes will be more piercing. It’s a totally all-rounder, that’ll please everyone. Take it into the night with a stroke of liquid eyeliner.

4. 17 Instant Glow Oversized Animal Print Bronzer (5.49)

We all need to feel a bit feisty when the cold weather is creeping in, and this animal print bronzer is purr-fect (too much?) to make you feel a little bit Bey-bey when you need it. Bronzer is traditionally for the summer months, but if applied carefully it can help you hold onto the fading summer months as well as brighten up your face.

5. No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover (£8.50)

Although £8.50 for a make-up remover may feel excessive, one cannot judge a book by it’s price. This make-up remover is heavenly and makes removing heavy eye make-up so much easier, something we definitely need as our skin is becoming fragile with the coming of autumn. Cheeky tip: Boots are currently giving away £5 off vouchers with any purchase which makes this much more affordable!
