Typing on an iPad screen is not a pleasurable experience. It feels like tip-tapping on the glass in a pet shop, attempting to wake up slumbering gerbils - only without the cute frolicking gerbil pay-off.

Scrolling through the smartphone apps selling on iTunes, the Android Store and BlackBerry App World, it’s easy to often think, I could do better than that!
Some apps, such as Fruit Ninja, Instagram and Angry Birds – which has recently surpassed one billion downloads - are genius in their simplicity and are sure to stand the test of time. But others…well, let’s just say some aren’t so great.
