This is pretty incredible. Results just in from the BBC show that the 2012 Olympic Games attracted a bigger web audience in one day than the entire football World Cup did in 2010. A senior BBC online sport executive said that Bradley Wiggins’ cycling time trial on 1 August resulted in 2.8 petabytes of data being requested – the equivalent of 700,000 DVDs full of information. 700,000 DVDs!
